Dual Ring Modulator

Soundfreak Synthesizer Module

Our Dual Ring Modulator packs two identical VCS3 ring modulators in one module. Both sections are identical, so we will expose its

parameters once.

The VCS3 ring modulator is an audio mixer that combines two signals and outputs their sum and difference while removing the original

frequencies.

When you send more complex waveforms into a ring modulator such as sawtooth and pulse, it generates more metallic and clangorous sounds

due to the shifting and often discordant harmonic relationships between the richer harmonics of these waveforms.

By combining and subtracting two input signals, this module produces complex, enharmonic textures. An essential tool for crafting rich, experimental sounds.

Triple VCO

The Triple Oscillator consists of three independent oscillators. They are identical in controls but different in range and waveforms.

Dual Filter Oscillator

The Dual Filter/Oscillator consists of two independent, identical filtering circuits modelled over the Filter/Oscillator section of the VCS 3, with some extra features.

Envelope Shaper

This module merges two separate sections of the VCS3: the Envelope Shaper (upper part of the front panel) and Noise Generator (lower part of the front panel).

VCF Filterbank

An array of ten parrallel bandpass filters tuned in octaves, from 31 Hz to 16Hz. While the filter’s frequency is fixed, their amplitude is controllable via volume knobs and control voltage.
